How much does a GPU cost per hour in Canada, in Canadian dollars?
Updated on
Short answer
At GPU Cloud, a 1-GPU server costs CA$0.67/h (NVIDIA RTX A6000, 48 GB) to CA$3.35/h (NVIDIA H100 PCIe, 80 GB) on demand, and from CA$0.54/h on Spot, taxes extra. Billing is hourly from prepaid credit with no commitment, and a hibernated server costs $0.02 per hour (about $14.60 per month) and keeps its disk.
The price of each GPU, on demand, on Spot and hibernated
| GPU | VRAM | On demand / h | Spot / h | Hibernated / h | Monthly term | Per GB of VRAM-hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA RTX A6000 | 48 GB | $0.67 | $0.54 | $0.02 | $474.50 | $0.014 |
| NVIDIA L40 | 48 GB | $1.34 | $1.07 | $0.02 | $941.70 | $0.028 |
| NVIDIA A100 PCIe | 80 GB | $1.81 | $1.45 | $0.02 | $1,270.20 | $0.023 |
| NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 | 96 GB | $2.48 | $1.98 | $0.02 | $1,737.40 | $0.026 |
| NVIDIA H100 PCIe | 80 GB | $3.35 | $2.68 | $0.02 | $2,343.30 | $0.042 |
Taxes extra. The monthly term is paid in advance. Prices read from the catalog when the page is built.
Servers with 2 to 8 GPUs, and the models offered on request, are on the GPU cloud pricing page.
Cost examples: 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week
| GPU | 1 hour | 1 day (24 h) | 1 week (168 h) | 1 week on Spot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA RTX A6000 | $0.67 | $16.08 | $112.56 | $90.72 |
| NVIDIA L40 | $1.34 | $32.16 | $225.12 | $179.76 |
| NVIDIA A100 PCIe | $1.81 | $43.44 | $304.08 | $243.60 |
| NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 | $2.48 | $59.52 | $416.64 | $332.64 |
| NVIDIA H100 PCIe | $3.35 | $80.40 | $562.80 | $450.24 |
Formula: hourly rate × number of hours, rounded to the cent, taxes extra. A full day or week running, without hibernation.
Spot or on demand
A Spot machine costs about 19% less ($0.54 instead of $0.67 per hour on an RTX A6000). In exchange, it can be interrupted without notice, is billed by the hour only and cannot be hibernated. Use it for work that resumes where it stopped (regular checkpoints); keep the on-demand machine for a service that must stay online.
Hibernate to keep your server without paying for the GPU
While hibernated, an on-demand server costs $0.02 per hour (about $14.60 per month) and keeps its disk. A server that is only stopped is still billed at the full hourly rate. Example: an RTX A6000 used 8 h a day for 22 days (176 h, $117.92) and hibernated the rest of the month (554 h, $11.08) comes to $129.00 for the month.
Monthly: for a server that runs all the time
A month counts 730 hours. An RTX A6000 running all month costs $489.10 by the hour, against $474.50 with the monthly term, paid in advance. The monthly term suits a service that is always online; hourly with hibernation suits use in periods.
What the minimum top-up pays for
The minimum top-up of CA$25.00 pays for 37 full hours of an on-demand RTX A6000, or 46 hours on Spot. Payment is by credit card.

- Billing is hourly, at the server’s hourly rate, from prepaid credit. There is no per-minute billing, and the first hour is charged when you deploy.
- A stopped server is still billed at the full hourly rate. To pay less, hibernate it ($0.02 per hour (about $14.60 per month), disk kept) or delete it. A Spot machine cannot be hibernated: delete it when you are done.
- The minimum top-up is CA$25.00, paid by credit card.
- Servers and their disks stay in Canada (region canada-montreal, in Montreal). Account information (identity, billing, e-mails) may be processed outside Quebec, as the privacy policy explains.
Frequently asked questions
Do the prices include taxes?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars, applicable taxes extra depending on the billing province.
Is billing per minute?
No, per hour, at the server’s hourly rate, from prepaid credit. The first hour is charged when you deploy.
Is a stopped server billed?
Yes, at the full hourly rate. To pay less, hibernate it ($0.02 per hour (about $14.60 per month)) or delete it.
How much does a week of GPU cost?
A full week (168 h) costs $112.56 on an RTX A6000 and $562.80 on an H100 PCIe, taxes extra.
How do I pay?
By credit card, topping up a prepaid credit of at least CA$25.00. Prices and invoices are in Canadian dollars.
